History

The Dave Ragnacci School of Dance was started in September of 1989 in the town of Forest City. In September of 1992 a second location was established in the city of Scranton. The studio offers Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe to students age 4 to adult. Programs are also offered in Aerobics, Pilates, Ballroom, Yoga, and Salsa Aerobics. The studio is known of its flash and flare of theater. The studio has performed at numerous community activities such as Keystone Summer Camp, numerous summer picnics, The Hair Show at the Woodlands, Elderly Homes, fundraisers for N.Y.C., The River Street Jazz Café with Picture Perfect, NEPTA Award ceremonies and fundraisers at Lackawanna College. Awards held by the studio, 1st place Great Adventure and also 1st place at The Funfest Competition in Hazleton.

The studio has had the honor of hosting numerous workshops with such guest artist as Kevin Williams, Madonna's Vogue Choreographer and Frank Kossick who starred in the touring company of Singing In The Rain. In 2000 the studio also began hosting a theatre camp in conjunction with the Corner Bistro.

Dave Ragnacci, owner and director of the studio has studied dance in New York City, Chicago, Christophers National Dance Teachers Seminars and numerous work shops. He has participated in The First American World Wide Dance Congress held in Chicago. He has been certified in dance through Dance Educators of America. He is choreographer for The Corner Bistro Dinner Theatre. Mr. Ragnacci is known for his work throughout the community choreographing and participating with such groups as North Scranton Jr. High School, Penn State Players, Penn State Cheerleaders, Bishop Hannan Cheerleaders, Standing Room Only Community Theater, Forest City Follies, The Daily Grind, Marywood Players, U of S Players, Lakeland High School Band Front, Coal Company Theater, Holy Rosary, Lincoln School and has taught at The University of Scranton Youth Sports Program. Dave is the choreographer for Valley View, Lakeland, West Side and Bishop Hoban High Schools. He has also severed as Actors Circle choreographer.
